Hi there! I'm Cathy, the founder of Just a Jump Rope. Before I left for college, my mom handed me a broken down old jump rope with hopes that I would keep off the "Freshman 15." I kept that sucker in my drawer for the next 4 years until I decided to become Shomer Shabbat. This means that I started to observe the Jewish Sabbath from Friday night to Saturday night which required me to shut down all technology and electronics.
On Saturdays during the day, I typically found myself seeking alternative forms of cardio outside of my usual run (keep in mind, on Shabbat, I can't use electricity i.e. a treadmill, stair master etc). Safe to say, working out became boring and took far too long to break a sweat. I remembered I had the jump rope my mom had given me 4 years prior. I took it out and immediately fell in love after the first use. The sweat came faster than I could ever imagine - less than 5 minutes!
